Review: 'CHEMICAL BROTHERS, THE'
'Believe'

-  Label: 'Virgin'
-  Genre: 'Dance' -  Release Date: 'May 2005'

Our Rating:
Although I’m sure I should be bored with The Chemical Brothers’ big beat-techno antics by now, its hard not to like what they do time and again. If you have stereotyped expectations of the latest release from the Push The Button album, then this record will not shatter your mental picture. And even if you don’t, it’s still not a departure from anything we’ve already heard. But there’s no doubting that these boys are great at what they do, and hell, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Like the previous single, this record evokes a sensation of emergency with alarm-like effects and robotic chunks of noise, and could easily be used on the soundtrack to the next big Oceans Eleven style heist movie. Hollywood won’t be the only arena in which this slick production may be taken advantage of however, as you’ll undoubtedly hear this one ripped up on dance-floors by a diverse range of aspiring and established DJs in classy and ropey clubs alike for months to come. Overkill it might, but like it now I do.
