Review: 'SIMPLE PLAN'
'WELCOME TO MY LIFE'

-  Label: 'LAVA/ ATLANTIC (www.simpleplan.com)'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '20th June 2005'

Our Rating:
Clueless Montreal Emo also-rans SIMPLE PLAN have already been subjected to several critical maulings from this here site, so "Welcome To My Life" offers them yet another opportunity to redeem themselves.

Not that it's an opportunity they bother to take, of course, because - predictably - "Welcome To My Life" is more of the same: whiny, skate-addled Emo cack that MTV are welcome to.   Its' self-pitying lyrics (e.g: "Do you ever feel like breaking down? / Do you ever feel out of place?/ Like somehow you just don't belong and no-one understands you?") are delivered by Pierre Bouvier in his most annoying, tantrum-embracing voice and you truly feel like giving him a smack in the mouth, so nauseating is his weedy invective.

What's worse is the single's press release suggests the band's parents have even colluded in bringing this torture to our ears. How? By allowing the fledgling SP the use of a station wagon to tour in around Canada. Christ. Couldn't one of them mercifully have let the tyres down and put the windows through to spare the world this drivel?
