Review: 'J. Edmond'
'Burnt Swamp Road'

-  Label: 'Bandcamp/Deezer/I-tunes'
-  Genre: 'Folk' -  Release Date: '8.8.26.'

Our Rating:
Burnt Swamp Road is the latest EP by Jeremy Edmond the singer songwriter from Prospect Connecticut who used to run Robojack Recordings and perform as Jebb. This album is just J. Edmond playing acoustic guitar and singing, baring his soul as a 27-year-old heart attack survivor and late diagnosed Autistic artist. The EP was Mixed by Fernando Perdomo.

The EP opens with the plaintive acoustic title song Burnt Swamp Road that has J. feeling afraid of everything happening in his life and around him, is global warming so bad that the swamps are burning and can't ever be drained.

Unlikely Pains is hard strummed acoustic guitar that goes over the intense vocal confessions, catharsis being sought, while trying to make those dreams into reality, no matter the pain it causes to achieve them.

After All that has happened to Jeremy along the way, he still wants to carry on and succeed, the stop start acoustic accentuates the points he makes, within the couplets asking him for forgiveness, he is currently unable to give, the difficulties of life spilling out of him.

Backyard Radio has more hopeful sounding guitar, in praise of that radio he hears playing in someone's backyard, all the feelings it brings up, his anger at another ad slot, rather than more music to soothe his aching heart.

The album closes with Let Me Breathe just give him enough space that he doesn't feel like he is suffocating all the time, the world has gotten too small for him, this late-night ruminating is his best hope of positive escape and personal therapy, trying to heal himself from all the pain he feels.
