Nils Lassen is a Danish composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist.
His second album, ‘Rain Steam Speed’, takes its title from J.M.W. Turner's 1844 painting.
The eleven love songs are structured as a single day spanning from morning to dusk with the aim of exploring the tensions between the old world and the new.
The concept is interesting but the music lacks any real sense of contrast so has a bland, easy listening quality.
