Our Rating:
Hailing from the West Midlands and having notched up successful supports with the likes of The Mutts and The Deciphers, PAISLEY RIOT go on to submit one of the best demos to have crossed your reviewer's path in recent times.

Featuring Shane Morley (vocals/ guitar), Paul Holford (lead guitar/ keyboards), Stuart Davis (bass) and drummer Rob Pallatina, the band spent time at Sutton's Priory Studios beavering over these three tracks, but the diligence was worth it, as this demo is an accomplished and powerful statement of intent from start to finish.

Opening number "Walk Into A Room" sets the scene nicely. It's well-drilled and tight with Motown-ish rhythms and plenty of instrumental cut'n'thrust and Holford's Love-ish lead guitar sparkling throughout.

It's a good start and one Paisley Riot make of point of refusing to squander as they power through both "Day Before The Revolution" and "Crackerjack". The former is a tense and smouldering slice of pop action, with clean'n'snaky guitars, excellent drumming from Pallatina and Morley's junior Steve Marriott vocals making their presence felt, while the closing "Crackerjack" finds the band rushing and pushing, taking some tricky tempo hurdles with aplomb and making like early Attractions into the bargain. Which is a bit of a result where these ears are concerned.

Paisley Riot, then, are obviously a name to earmark. If they can build on this, then I can certainly predict...well, if not a riot, then at least some tasty rock'n'roll action up and down the land. Watch this space.
