'Try Fly Blue Sky' (try saying that after a couple of drinks!) is a collection of three slow, soulful songs by twins, Todd and Max Roache, aka THE HEART STRINGS.
Opening track, 'Cannonball Stan' is a gentle, catchy tune
backed by an assortment of instruments from everyday guitars and keyboards, to trumpets and glockenspiels and lyrics so sugary sweet they wouldn't be out of place in a fairy tale.
B sides, 'Kids' and 'He Wanted To Fly And He Flew' are similar sounding, upbeat, easy listening pop songs akin to the kind played on Top Of The Pops back in the 70s, with memorable choruses, a beat you can comfortably tap your feet along to.
'Try Fly Blue Sky' is the kind of listener friendly EP that your dad (or any other elderly member of your family) would love, due to the predictable nature of the songs and the gentle rhythms, which will remind them of an easier, simpler time.
