Our Rating:
Bloody hell, we sure get a cross-section of stuff to review round here, don't we?

No doubt any parents amongst you will already know all about PATROLMAN PETE: basically a cross between Thomas & Tank Engine and Postman Pat devised for the AA with one eye on a campaign for road safety and the other one the chance of keeping the likes of Robbie Williams, James Blunt or Westlife off the Christmas Number One slot. Fine. That's my vote sorted then.

"But what of the song itself?" I hear you cry. Well, what can I tell you? It's totally inoffensive, poppy and lighweight fun and the kind of thing 'Rainbow's Rod, Jane and Freddy would no doubt have come up with during the breaks when the anarchic Zippy got his obligatory zipping up from George or Bungle. Only with a slightly bigger studio to hand. And a small drum kit.

So there you go. Good, clean innocent fun or the devil's financial adviser at work depending on your preference/ prejudice. Personally I'd plump for the former, but I can't help wondering if they'll drag Ringo Starr in to do the voiceovers when it gets televised in the near future.
