Review: 'WAX PLANET'
'BATTLE OF THE PLANETS (DEMO EP)'

-  Label: 'Self-Released (www.waxplanet.co.uk)'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'October 2005'

Our Rating:
WAX PLANET are an enigmatic band. All that is known is that the shy and retiring group (of I don't know how many) hail from Manchester, and specialise in catchy upbeat pop tunes.

Opening track 'Battle Of The Planets' is a bit of a grower, but once it has mapped out your brain's hardwiring system, it is a song which will ingrain itself so deeply, that you'll end up having dreams with the tune as a soundtrack- scary as hell possibly, but oh so very good!

'Yeah Right' is a cheeky, groovy little number with jazzy drumming and powerful vocals from the (male) lead singer. Final track 'Streets On Fire' is by far the most outstanding track on the EP, with half sung half shouting lyrics, fast paced, off beat drumming and an uber catchy guitar riff and harmony which will get you jumping round your room like a hyperactive child. Great!
