Here we have a band that sounds like the Mighty Mighty Bostones meeting Lost Prophets and then bumping into Slayer for a nice cup of tea and some kick ass punky metal, with the odd indie refs thrown in for good measure.Funnily enough they also sound like China Drum - for those who can recall,a rather superb band from the early 90's, remembered by me for their dappa rock cover
of Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights. However, I digress.
HITECHJET have produced a likeable album, which is perhaps at the more melodic end of their genre, but I'm a sucker for inventive vocal arrangements, and they combine Brian Ayders vocals - who sounds like he's swallowed a cheese grater - with some great harmonies from the rest of the band.
On the other side of the coin, is no one track on this album which I dislike, but there aren't any stand out tracks either - although overall it's a decent album: definitely above background music, but it wouldn't force me to sit up and pay attention. It's a slightly odd notion to have a hardcore punk, metal, indie (or whatever) band who have no real anthems or razor sharp tunes that get under your skin. Oh well.

Therefore, this album won't go on the pile designated for my CD Graveyard (i.e. on the floor, out of their cases, under my bed), and although I can't guarantee that it'll end up on the iPod, maybe if I'm ever cleaning my room it might get a good playing.
