Our Rating:
First and foremost let’s get this out of the way, TEST ICICLES is a dreadful name for a band. Sorry folks, I know it’s been said before but honestly, what were they thinking?

That aside, these demented art-rock-cum-heavy-metal popsters have thrown out a joyful and electrifying jaunt that spits out archetypal Kevin and Perry sentiments - I Hate You, Why Must You Always Ruin My Life? type of thing. It’s great, it sounds just like a small child throwing a temper tantrum in a super market.

Musically they seem to stick out like sore thumbs: part indie but maybe too heavy-metal for the shoegazers, and conversely, part hard rock but maybe too indie for your average Neb. So you end up with three people thrashing around, really enjoying themselves, and everyone else being confused because of genre-issues. I like it, the end result is great, and “genre” is really only a marketing tool anyway.

Eeeeee if I was a few years younger I’d be thrashing around like the best of them to this, but I choose to retain dignity and leave it to the kids. 'Cause they’re alright.
