The Pocket Gods are Mark Lee and Annelise Moeke. Hailing from St Albans, the band have previously been championed by John Peel and it’s easy to see why.
With a lo-fi, garage sound, similar to that of New York rockers The Moldy Peaches, The Pocket Gods' music is made up of crackly, static sounding guitars, tinny drumming and fuzzy singing. Their songs are short, simple yet strangely endearing, with tunes such as ‘Sussex,’ ‘Sandringtons’ and ‘I Love The World’ seeming like they have been just thrown together from thin air, but the catchy, exuberant feel to the songs make sure that this band will stick in your mind long after you thought such a sensation would be possible.
