Review: 'THOMAS, NATASHA'
'SKIN DEEP'

-  Label: 'GIVE RECORDS'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: 'February 2006'

Our Rating:
First heard on the Lacoste perfume advert, the one with a woman leaping into the air to catch a bottle of perfume (why do all perfume adverts have to be so rubbish?), ‘Skin Deep’ is NATASHA THOMAS'S debut single.

Thomas has a voice coach, so it’s no surprise that her singing is impeccable, backed by silky smooth R and B beats and the occasional twang acoustic guitar. The song sounds perfect, but that seems to be part of its problem. There is nothing to distinguish it from the thousands of other R and B tunes out there (apart from the fact that it’s been on an advert) and so the result is that ‘Skin Deep’ is dull, laboured and boring to listen to.
