Review: 'DIOS (MALOS)'
'I WANT IT ALL'

-  Label: 'FULL TIME HOBBY (www.fulltimehobby.co.uk)'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '6th March 2006'

Our Rating:
Hailing from Hawthorne, California - the home of The Beach Boys - DIOS (MALOS) have graduated from lo-fi hopefuls to Morrissey’s LA support act and ‘OC’ soundtrack contributors.

Taken from an eponymous forthcoming album produced in Seattle by Phil Ek (Built to Spill, The Shins), ‘I want it all’ looks set to consolidate this initial success.

For a song that is blatantly about aspiration and acquisition, it has a curiously laid-back, groovy feel, a bit like Jack Johnson with sonic knobs on. Said knobs - including cowbells, church organ and glam guitar - combine with a rich vocal to create a piece of Californian sunshine that, at just under three minutes, doesn’t outstay its welcome.
