Review: 'HUNDRED REASONS'
'KILL YOUR OWN'

-  Label: 'V2'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: '6TH MARCH 2006'-  Catalogue No: 'VVR5036423'

Our Rating:
Oh no emo. Eek!

HUNDRED REASONS (Britain’s answer to emo: kind of like Cliff was our Elvis - Stop sniggering at the back!) have been knocking around since 2000 and as of March 2006 are still ploughing the same emotive rock furrow as if their lives depended on it; which makes ‘Kill Your Own’ sound both dated and out of step. Now in the right hands that can be a blessing in disguise but as emo has always been a bugbear of mine it just doesn’t add up or (bug) bear thinking about.

But I’m a reviewer therefore I’ll have to think about it, so I’m going in…..wish me luck…..deep breath…..

The song itself sounds like a heavy metal update of a riff Keef was knocking around with some 40 years ago. If I’m not going to find any positives there let’s have a quick gander at the lyrics: “Yes I meant to hurt you and kick your insides into touch”.

Oh dear.

….and I’m back in the room:

The things I do for you Dear Reader.
