Review: 'PIGEON DETECTIVES, THE'
'I'M NOT SORRY'

-  Label: 'DANCE TO THE RADIO (www.dancetotheradio.com)'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '13th March 2006'

Our Rating:
The Pigeon Detectives have apparently been playing together for 10 years, & they certainly sound like a cohesive unit on this 7” single.

This is a quality chunk of post punk visceral guitar mayhem over a solid beat. Over the 2 tracks it is obvious they wear their influences on their sleeves – Blondie, The Cure, Stooges, Velvet Underground, Rolling Stones & Joy Division all get caps doffed, and it’s timeless stuff.

This is also it’s main criticism, that they’re not trying anything new & it could have been released anytime in the last 30 years. It is very well produced however, and sonic innovation isn’t everything all the time. The strutting power chords, two fingers attitude & confident vocals push it firmly out of the mediocre bracket & I’m not sorry should be given a home by anyone who considers being snotty a good thing.
