This crisp piece of 80s revivalism came out a few weeks ago, drawing attention to the FILM SCHOOL debut album.
W&H Time Lord Tim Peacock has nudged avid readers in the right general direction of what FILM SCHOOL do back in 2005. The closest comparison I could come up with this outing was Martha and the Muffins' "Echo Beach". And that's close enough to give you a general feel for what the Californian five piece band are up to on this particular track. EDITORS have a similar approach to reprocessing some of the better parts of the early 80s pop outsiders.
11:11 has that transient riff/mood thing going. There is one killer guitar/bass line that repeats its two bars forever. Some cunning synth stuff spins it out over the near five minutes running time. It's quality pop with an indie ambience. Krayg Burton's agreeably roughend vocals are echoed moodily and it works.

"Walked Till Sunday" (a new track) sustains the intelligent moodiness without throwing out any hooks to catch the passing trade. But it’s quality stuff.
