Review: 'AUTONS, THE'
'SNAKES/ ICE MAJOR (EP)'

-  Label: 'R*E*P*E*A*T RECORDS'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '20th May 2006'-  Catalogue No: 'BB009'

Our Rating:
Remember the Spectrum 128K? Yep that old chestnut. Well, without wanting to give one's age away, the debut single from THE AUTONS sounds very much like the 2-bit sound you got with games such as "Rock Star Ate My Hamster", "Fantasy Land Dizzy", and "Dynamite Dan II" (or even "Cybernator", if you're into your obscure game references).

The Autons apparently met during an audition for Dr Who, as extra parts for the Autons as it happens. The Autons being the dummies that came to life in the very first episode of the new series. It was the one where red-blooded men up and down the country had to have serious words with themselves when they realised that Billie was, in fact, a bit of a fox (if you like that sort of thing).

Aaanyway, the music itself is entertaining at first, but gets a little irritating after a while. Good wholesome indie-pop all the same though.
