There are leanings towards 60’s psychedelia in the melody of the grunged-out, raw-sounding A-side, which gathers momentum with the building rhythm section ploughing through the murky waters of distortion. Depending on the format, there are three B sides available.
For CD, the inane rhymes and bass-driven chimes of a live version of ‘Intimate Secretary’ that descends into guitar mayhem courtesy of a crunching rhythm with distressing staccato licks thrown in for good measure. The other live offering, ‘It Ain’t Easy’ is a raw slice of blues that is also heavy on gain-high, crunchy lead during the chorus.

As rock n’ roll goes, Jack and Co. are pedestrians occupying the middle-of-the-road. This passable record does nothing wrong. In fact it adheres to several familiar patterns, doing very little to stir the senses - and this is why it fails to ignite a spark as far as the eardrums are concerned.
