Our Rating:
The 80s eh? We all love them now, don’t we? You can’t walk down the street without getting an eye full of crimped hair or tripping over a Top-Shop vintage pop sock. Turn on the radio and it’s 1985 all over again, stabby synths, robot vocals and chundering basslines but with the added bonus of no David ‘Kid’ Jensen in between. Girls Aloud have got Bananarama down pat, the kids are sniffing glue again, and Noel Edmonds is back on the telly - we’ve never had it so good.

Camp Actor seem to think so anyway, and deliver a good slice of stuttering, panic stricken synth pop a la Thomas Dolby or Devo straight from those heady gender-bending times. Metal Mickey meets Money for Nothing in a tin-pot clattering, glam-Numan bit of twitchy lipstick pop, which trust me is not a bad thing at all. Bit of a cop out with just an instrumental on the B-side though, but I’m sure it’ll come in handy for the folk sticking Beyonce’s vocals over it in the bars of Shoreditch.

Caustic man, but funny as well, I enjoyed reading this!

Devo are meant to be seen and not heard, I think.
