‘Walking The Streets’ is a perfect example of inoffensive soft indie pop performed with intelligent conviction. Emotive chord changes, matching bass and strong agreeable vocals create an impression of courage, hope and better things to come.
There’s a definite sense of ‘I’ve heard this one somewhere before’ and The Futureheads spring to mind but Mad Staring Eyes don’t quite pull it off in the same way. On the plus side you’re never quite sure what’s going to happen next. It’s not a bad effort and wouldn’t sound out of place at any given summer festival.
