Review: 'MURDERHOUSE, THE'
'WHAT LOVERS DO'

-  Label: 'CONFIDENTIAL RECORDS'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'August 2006'

Our Rating:
With a name straight out of a Steven King novel, The Murderhouse are all about full on ear assaulting filthy minimalist rock.

‘What Lovers Do’ features a relentless fuzz bass, rock steady drums and a vocal that you wouldn’t want to meet down a dark alleyway. But unfortunately it’s a bit passé and repetitive. Instead of exploding where and when you’d want it to, ‘What Lovers Do’ ends up becoming a monosyllabic drone, albeit a loud one, that doesn’t fully reveal the trio’s folk, rock and blues influences. There’s a potential here but one that hasn’t been fully realised yet.
