I see Phil Lynott’s thumbs raised and jeans ads. rolling up in revered appraisal of this rocking, sock-it-to-ya anthem to, erm, momentum.
This is solid, chunky rock n roll, mainstream and accessible, with a minor chord nod to the late 1970’s new wave sensibilities we all know and love. With vocals like sharp intakes of breath as the track builds and drops to the thud of the drums and the slightly distorted chord sequence, OK GO have given us accessibility and blended themselves into a sea of similar sounding records.
It’s nice, but it's also commercial, and its been done – oh so many, many times before
