"Not My Fault" is the debut single by this suspiciously-American sounding British songwriter. His influences are, apparently, the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Crowded House. Crowded House I can hear in there a little, but apart from that there is an overwhelming sense of US radio-rock about the single.
If you like Matchbox 20, Nine Days or Third Eye Blind then this track could be right up your street. The song is undoubtedly catchy and has an "oomph" about it lacking in a lot of music elsewhere. However it is also just a little ordinary - the kind of play-it-by-numbers safe guitar music that will please some but never really blow anyone away.
Fame might not be right around the corner but this first effort is not bad and is certainly worth checking out.
