Review: 'KINGSTON, ALFIE'
'SHE'S SCARY/ A LITTLE NONSENSE'

-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: 'November 2006'

Our Rating:
This double a-side from ALFIE KINGSTON is the ultimate in easy listening music, I can see both tunes being right at home on BBC radio 2.

The first song 'She's Scary' instantly sets the scene with an eerie guitar and owls hooting. The atmosphere is further added to with a sound slightly reminiscent of a screeching banshee sounds. The chorus takes a slightly different vein introducing a more a Phil Collins/ REM influenced sound. Kingston has skilfully taken the songs title and developed an instrumental backing to suit.

'A Little Nonsense' clearly indicates Kingston's influence from artists like REM and Counting Crows. This melodic ballad is simply inoffensive and very nice.

This country tinged music is not my thing but both these tracks show potential and I can imagine my mum loving them.
