Mashy Muxx are a Czech group which formed in 1993. This is only their second album and their driving force is Jerza says of their sound "It's pretty difficult to sort us somewhere. We used to describe our music as hip hop, breaks and hardcore, nowadays we use crossover, because it is shorter and more vague ".
I'm always suspicious of anyone who uses a word like 'crossover' as all too frequently the end results display a jack of all genres mastery of none quality. Such is most certainly the case here with a hotchpotch of styles which seem hell-bent on going somewhere interesting but end up going nowhere fast.
The lyrics are all over the place but are proudly displayed on the sleeve just the same. While I'm sure the words are intended to be tongue in cheek, a much lighter touch is needed to get away with lines like "if you really like her beaver then she's the one for you" (Just like That) or "say wee-pah shabba dee - take your dicks out and come to me!" (Never Satisfied).

If you were feeling charitable you might say that these may sound more profound in the bands own language but I couldn't help concluding that the opening lines of 'Wild Tart As' summed up their lyrical prowess pretty well - "no matter what you say, it sounds like nonsense".
To give credit where it's due however, they are , to my knowledge, the first band to use the word 'Coprophagic' in a pop song. This describes that which feeds on dung and is applied here to neighbours, enemies, communists, Stock-Aitken-Waterman and ticket collectors.
Overall I was forced to conclude that whatever target audience they are aiming for here I don't belong to it and mused that 'Mashy Mess' would have been a more accurate band name.
