This magnificent reggae tune from Kingston rapper TURBULENCE is taken from a very tasty-looking compilation of Jamaican music “Serious Times” on Ghetto Arc / XL. The opening feral yelps demand attention, and the song itself delivers all the promise boasted in that shock-start gambit.
His voice sears and rasps, the dub bass and drums are huge – complemented by extra beats and (on the Diplo Vocal Version) the soulful singing of SANDRA MELODY.
I notice that the XL on-line shop has sold out of vinyl. If you can find a copy locally – buy it.
And if not, go looking for the ”Serious Times” compilation. Especially, I suspect, if you think reggae is cool, but don’t actually own more than a bit of Bob Marley.
