Review: 'SESSIONS, THE'
'What Is this Feeling'

-  Label: 'P&C Indio Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '18th June'

Our Rating:
I'd heard a lot about this band before receiving the single. Various statements from the infamous Alan McGee had caught my attention, and I was eager to hear what the band sounded like.

Upon hearing 'What Is This Feeling' I was not surprised that the band were backed by McGee. Their sound is very reminiscent to early britpop, but has undertones of Northern Soul and funk thrown in.

Although it is a pleasant song and quite engaging at times, I can't help but feel it's missing something. Whenever I listen to the track I feel as though it's about to take off, but it never does. I want it to kick into a really upbeat funk, similar to that of Reverend and The Makers, but it never quite reaches that point.

It is a great debut, but I feel this band have much further to go before they reach the top of their game and create a track that will gain them the attention they probably deserve.
