THE TRUDY write simple pop nuggets which conform to the pop ideology and bring joy to the hearts of those who chose to listen. Granted they may not be to everybody’s taste. Hell, they may even be classed as throwaway pap, but even the hardest of heart will have trouble beating a little more willingly to this joyous little number.
To be fair, a band that has been around on and off since 1988 should be able to write a decent tune by now or there’d be no point in continuing surely!
Where The Trudy succeed is by composing unapologetic, bubblegum pop with huge hooks and a novelty value that falls just the right side of irritating. If you want a foot tapping, finger clicking, hand clapping jolly good time. There is no better place to start than with The Trudy. Just leave your cynical pretensions at the door.
