Review: 'PALLOT, NERINA'
'PEG'

-  Label: '14TH FLOOR RECORDINGS'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '25th June 2007'

Our Rating:
Having received major label backing a few years ago NERINA PALLOT allegedly took offence to a record executives meddling and made a few corrosive comments on her web blog. Ergo, she was dropped from the label and left to pick up the pieces.

However, she has since done that without too much trouble, hence this brand new single. One just wishes the song had the same aggression as the singer. Alas, choosing a song which was a minor hit for Steely Dan in 1977 is surely no way to re-launch your career.

The production has all the virtues of an 80’s Stock, Aitken and Waterman cast off; all synthetic beats and silly noises. It’s a pity really as Miss Pallot has a charming voice, reminiscent of Norah Jones. The choice of song and the production though reek of bargain basement. Better things are surely around the corner if she can move away from this sort of turgid nonsense.
