Our Rating:
‘I’m Not Sorry’ sees the usually rowdy PIGEON DETECTIVES kicking back a little as they continue with the business of showcasing debut long player ‘Wait For Me’.

It’s still undoubtedly them though. Big and urgent hook-lines draw the listener head-first into a wall of guitars, through which you can hear Matt’s vocal brimming with resentment, and an utter refusal to buy any guilt trip, however big.

Dropping out, and building up, from verse to chorus and back, this is still compulsive crowd-chanting fodder - but the sliding, shifting guitars add a touch of sadness, as the tune follows a walking bassline in and out of another thumping beat. Open/closed hi hat 1/16ths add to the building tension as this perfect-pop indie anthem unfolds.

There’s a drum-crashing finale too, as the insane order of things is restored amidst howling feedback. Very addictive sounding, quick hits of catchy pop music is what THE PIGEON DETECTIVES are so adept at producing, and this is yet another fine example.
