Limited edition 7” white vinyl bearing shambolic sounding gifts! Indie fusion presents another episode of the eighties revisited?
It's a kitsch name for a band – true to form THE PATTY WINTERS SHOW match this with their squinting and slightly minimalist music. Skipping guitars with shards of electronic noise characterise a sound that is quick to find a groove in mid-tempo, from where it floats anonymously, ever devoted to the art of introspection and the anorak analogue.
Once there, it settles in ready to stretch pop’s parameters with an accessible sound that somehow doesn’t adhere to a familiar format. There’s a trance-out that distorts time and shifts focus, and the vocals remain distinctive and eccentric throughout this wistful thousand-yard stare back across the wasteland where the Top 40 used to be.
Distant, I think, is the word I’m looking for.
