From the press release this band sounds like the most interesting thing you could ever imagine. Four guys, all born decades apart, making authentic rock n roll, singing songs about someone called Billy. Never heard that one before! If only the music was a good as the story behind them...
Somehow they’ve been given the tag ‘Intelligent Indie’ due to an association with TS Elliot’s poems but the only thing intelligent about this song is the fact that it ends rather abruptly. That’s not a bad little trick but the overwhelming feeling is that there’s no substance, musically, to what is a genuinely interesting band. A bit sad really. The band also have some strange artwork which seems to either be a mock of Hard-Fi’s recent stunts or a playful copy. Either way it’s not too great.
