Review: 'WHIP, THE'
'SISTER SIAM'

-  Label: 'SOUTHERN FRIED'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '5th November 2007'

Our Rating:
Sometimes the simplest of ideas can work not the best, but pretty well anyway. This is the case for the new single from THE WHIp. The idea is pretty simple, quiet, dubbed vocals over synths and beats. This song was a crowd favourite at their triumphant D-Percussion performance earlier this year. It has the markings of other Manchester classics and it's not going to be a surprise to hear people harking back to the days of the Hacienda when they hear this.

This is a song that will go down well in the indie clubs, perhaps mixed in between The Rapture and The Stone Roses. “You go your way, and I'll go mine,” will become a chant in no time. It has anthem of the future written all over it, partly because it sticks to the formula, but does it well.
