Last week I gave out scathing review to Garrison Starr, yet another female singer songwriter stuck firmly on the middle line. There seem to be many of them about. I have reviewed several. And it's becoming a challenge now, because I'm running out of similes.
Dawson's Creek rock? I've used it. The soundtrack to Sex and the City? Done it. An emotional moment in Neighbours? Definitely.
This US AOR sung by a British girl. The voice is perfectly fine – there's nothing remarkable about it. The songs are terrible. They are completely standard – generic emotions, a little bit of heartache. It's just chick-lit, but to music. I've not said that before, so this is a bonus.

It's hard to say what differentiates a Dido from a Donna Lewis, but there is something that makes a career out of these interchangeable dullards, and usually it's the sound-track to a Richard Curtis film (hmmm... that's new too. Perhaps I should save some of these for the next inevitable Magic FM enticing sweet voice that will emerge probably in the next few days).
Behold the genre that will now be known as Marian Keyes rock. I'm waging a war.
