Review: 'HARDY, JON/ THE PUBLIC'
'WORKING IN LOVE'

-  Label: 'www.jonhardy.com'
-  Genre: 'Rock' -  Release Date: 'February 2008'

Our Rating:
This American band really have something to say for themselves. An amalgamation of Snow Patrol and Coldplay mixed with similar vocals as that of the lead singer of Embrace; Jon Hardy et al have got plenty to show for their input.

With simple and precise chords, ‘Working in Love’ provided feeling and emotion without complicating melodies or deepening their complexity. That is not to say that these guys aren’t deep, or that their political views are frivolous. Lyrics such as ‘rather be blind than spend my time trying to buy your heart’ in their fabulous track ‘Please, baby please’ shows their views on the material world and their essence of purity (that can most probably be accounted for due to band member Glenn Labarre’s former political role as the youngest Canadian Government Official).

On a more melodic level, the use of the trumpet in this tune helps portray their unique quality, adding an extra shift to their quivering musical abilities. With mounds of sentimentality and shimmering guitar sounds, these boys really do appeal to listeners who love to listen to independent music types. Hardy and his band are bound to create such great tracks due to their plethora of musical styles and their intriguing childhood backgrounds.

This band are most definitely something the British public could get their teeth into. Come to Britain boys. Jon Hardy will definitely have The Public waiting for more. These guys are anything but stale.
