Review: 'McVICAR, RORY'
'NO MORE DO I CARE (single)'

-  Label: 'Series 8 Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: '7th April 2008'-  Catalogue No: 'SO11 CDP'

Our Rating:
Rory McVicar is a Norwich Morrissey sound-a-like both in vocal delivery and songwriting style.

This is his second single from his 2007 eponymous debut album which also features a new track, not inappropriately entitled 'Voice Familiar'.

As with the Smiths, there's a contrast between upbeat , melodic music and maudlin lyrics.

The title song, which speaks of not kow-towing to "people I can't bear", indicates that Rory also shares with Mozza an unwillingness to suffer fools gladly.

Similarities aside, there's enough passion and wisdom here to more than demonstrate that McVicar is an exciting talent in his own right.

A fine pop song and a name to remember.
