Review: 'FUTURE LOOP FOUNDATION'
'SUNSHINE PHILOSOPHY (ep)'

-  Label: 'Just Music'
-  Genre: 'Ambient' -  Release Date: '31st March 2008'-  Catalogue No: 'TAOSOO9'

Our Rating:
This digital only ep offers listeners a fifteen minute-three track foretaste of the forthcoming 'The Fading Room - Memories & Remixes' which will be the Mark Barrott aka Future Loop Foundation's (FLP) first album in eight years.

It features two remixes of the title track - the first is a radio edit by Rob da Bank & Chris Coco and the second a 'Chilled by Nature' pastoral mix.

These glow with a radiant nostalgia for the charm of a perfect English summer day.

It opens with a boy askings his grandfather what he is doing, to which the old man quips: "I'm watering my tommy-atoes and I'm going to chase these cows away from the fence" with the kind of homely sentimentalism which pervades BBC's 'The Last of the Summer Wine'.

Later a nursery rhyme ('Giddy up horsey') prefaces warm electronica in much the same mould of as Lemon Jelly's 'Nice Weather For Ducks' and FLP's own 'A Very English Summer'

The two tracks are interspersed with a 'beauty room remix' of 'Everything As It Should Be' a beautiful chill out number to play while sipping a glass of warm beer on the patio while admiring a newly mowed lawn.

It's officially Summer.
