Review: 'HAIR, THE'
'BLOOD'

-  Label: 'Four Plus Five Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'June 16 2008'

Our Rating:
For nail-on-the-head danceable electro rock music, THE HAIR get better and better. Sam Robson's voice is instantly recognisable and the band's funky mixture of old soul keyboard sounds and jerky guitar slices is a snappy foundation. Japan and Huw Stephens are the sorts of fan base you can take for granted.

"Blood" is a first single on their own 4 by 5 label. The title track is trademark HAIR, "Stocks" is driving four four with riffs and chants bubbling out all over the floor. Stand still? Only long enough to topple forwards and rush along all over again. A third track"Million Lies" shows there are plenty more of those quirked over dance things in the locker.

Attention paid to crisp tempo and sonic variety in the backing tracks keep the basically fun music interesting.
