This 7” release comes on black glitter vinyl, no less – as probably deemed appropriate for this blast of emulsified glitz. It’s a trademark cheesy cut taken from the self-reflexive trio’s debut full length offering ‘Reality Check’ – the sparkle type electronica makes for a truly tongue-in-cheek slice of disco/synth pop that’s both unchallenging and utterly empty-headed.
The self-assured vocal hook is a warm declaration “We know you’re gonna love it”. It just has to be a piss-take, one that’s confirmed by the piece o’cheese spoken word vocal break – but the joke’s on the punter this time. As a send-up of dance music culture it’s lacking more than just a certain je sais pas. In fact, in terms of sound, the track is piss-weak - a shame, for the long-player has a definite groove to it. Perhaps this is a deliberate ploy...pick the worst track to release as a single? Ahh, the games, the games…
