Review: 'DEEGAN, SEAN'
'Was I Wrong Now? single'

-  Label: 'Matchbox Recordings'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '13th October 2008'-  Catalogue No: 'MRSD02'

Our Rating:
Sean Deegan is a singer-songwriter based in Devon. Was I Wrong Now? is his new single.

The lead track starts out as an acoustic number but slowly layers drums, bass and electric guitar. There is a slight country influence about the vocals. It is quite a catchy song, and coming in at 2 and a half minutes is just about right. It is not breaking any new ground, but it is pleasant enough.

Do You Feel The Darkness? is a piano-led ballad, which has rich dual vocal. The chorus vocals have hints of 60s pop about them, The Kinks' Ray Davies coming to mind the most.

There is also an unnecessary cover of John Lennon's Imagine. It's an over-rated song anyway, and certainly does not need covering for the umpteenth time.

Overall then it is nothing spectacular, but hard to dislike too.
