Texan prodigy MICAH.P. HINSON'S star has been shining much brighter in the firmament than most of his Lone Star state peers since his debut album '...And The Gospel Of Progress' was unleashed on an unexpecting indiedom in 2004. Indeed, despite being shadowed by the pernicious likes of heartache, addiction and the long arm of the law in the intervening time he seems to have simply gone from strength to strength.
Of course, the old cliché of there being a strong woman behind every great man has since come into play in Hinson's world, as he recently (and very publicly) proposed to his long-time sweetheart on stage in London . Thankfully for our hero, she accepted, thus ensuring Micah's new single 'We Won't Have To Be Lonesome' brings out his most disarmingly romantic streak.

Actually, in less capable hands, '...Lonesome' could be horribly schmaltzy, such is its' lush'n'sumptuous design, Hammond organs at 6'o'clock and some sweeping, James Burton-style guitar work. However, Hinson reins in the mini-Elvis-isms and instead comes up with something real, redemptive and quite lovely instead, ensuring his run of fine releases continues in style.
Ain't love grand, then? Well, yeah, in such creative hands it's still something to aspire to for sure.
