Review: 'FAULKNER, NEWTON'
'Gone In The Morning'

-  Label: 'Ugly Truth'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '7th July 2008'-  Catalogue No: 'www.newtonfaulkner.com'

Our Rating:

Taken from NEWTON FAULKNER'S excellent debut long-player, this lovely Casio heartbeat sound oozes stop-start warmth from beginning to end. Rocksteady, assured and smiling in the face of heartbreak, it’s a child’s eye view of life blessed with all the building intensity of pop’s uncanny momentum.

From the Ginger-dread man!

Sub-warped and prone to the odd peripheral stomp, ‘Gone In The Morning’ sees a shift of focus away from Faulkner’s ‘boy-wonder’ guitar talent towards an all-embracing DIY ode to three-minute sensibilities supreme.

Oddly reminiscent of early Frank & Walters’ material, the charm of this record is truly irresistible – Hit!
