Review: 'TIGERS THAT TALKED'
'23 FEARS'

-  Label: 'Bad Sneakers Records'
-  Genre: 'Indie' -  Release Date: 'December 8 2008'-  Catalogue No: 'BADSNEAK21 (limited edition 7" vinyl & download)'

Our Rating:
This is crazy! ANOTHER really cute-sounding indie band from the Leeds hothouse. Both sides of this single carry heartbreak vocals and lovely tunes, with chiming guitar, warm violin parts and the option of dancing. Like quite a few "Bands from Leeds", TIGERS THAT TALKED are actually form all over. The City itself provides a fertile scene and a clutch of labels, producers and venues ready to give talent a decent hearing. Jamie Williams does the dreamy singer with a Rickenbacker thing, Owain Kelly plays bass, half-Norwegian violinist Glenna Larsen adds that strong extra voice and drummer / percussionist Chris Verney keeps that dance option on the agenda.

23 Fears was produced by Will Jackson and the equally infectious "I Am Nothing" was knocked into shape by James Kenosha, a young producer whose star is rising rapidly, whit outstanding work for DUELS and GRAMMATICS among others.

These are addictive, perfectly formed songs - they capture the whole point and purpose of the single. Transient, delicious and (for all their craft) simple and instantly accesiible.
