Our Rating:
Should you suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or sit yourself down and have a nice cup of tea?

This is the question posed by this feisty all female punk trio from London who are Angela on guitar and vocals, Paula on bass and Ann Rock on drums.

Their sound is not as rough-edged as The Slits or as Avant as The Raincoats but instead has a quirky petulance more akin to the pop infected punk of Altered Images or Lene Lovich.

The bridge in Escape the Hum sounds a lot like the riff from Joy Division's 'Transmission' as does the 'Dance with me' chorus from the follow up track. In other words, we're not talking innovation here but their infectuous energy is admirable all the same.

Dealing with break ups, kicking against the pricks and trying to find a good reason to get out of bed in the morning are the themes of the six snappy songs on this DIY Ep.

"What is the point? .....Everyday's the same as before", Angela protests on 'Stop Talking' and on the video for this song she looks to be about to hurl herself into the canal at Camden Lock.

Rather than endorsing suicidal tendencies however, the vicious cycle of being stuck in a rut is faced in such a spirited way that it becomes more a call to arms instead of an excuse for wallowing in self pity.

To show how much they care, if you go to one of their gigs you can buy one of their limited edition collection of hand made CDs with a tasty looking fairy cake on the cover! How can you resist?
