Wild Bores is both a terrible pun and a band fronted by singer/songwriter John Whildin.
On the self-titled album he is backed by musicians he's collaborated with over the years.
He/they mix classic pop and rock influences from the music scenes of Nashville and Chicago.
The ten radio friendly songs have a carefree summery feel but lack any real character or substance.
On 'Hands On It' you get the anti-rebellious lyric: "He rides his motorcycle with his helmet off and his folks keep telling him that he should keep it on", which pretty well sums up the clean-cut, safety first attitude.
On another track, he sings "All my friends have creepy lives" which may be intended as a criticism but in this context definitely sounds a preferable lifestyle option.
In short, a band that you could book to play at a High School dance without any risk of offending teachers or parents.
