Jeremy Kyle and Bill Hicks on the same bill? Not exactly what I was expecting. An aggressive, mainstream-baiting American comic who died from cancer and a smug divorcee with a superiority complex who baits and argues with the very dregs of society. To be honest, the music isn't really what's important here. In fact, it's barely here at all.
"Love All The People" (named after Hicks' book, as I am so helpfully reminded by the press release) simply involves a lounging, blissed-out beat drowning in a murky, simmering hum, punctuated by choice moments from Hicks' rants on alcohol, cannabis and class-A drugs. It's appropriate if nothing else, but the emphasis is on the words, not the tune. "To make marijuana against the law is like saying God made a mistake." It's a talking piece track, a CD you put on if you want to incite conversation. Or maybe if you've taken Bill's advice and just smoked something illicit, quasi-ambience mixed with controversy.
"Jeremy Kyle Mashup", on the other hand, is exactly that: clips from Jeremy lambasting his pond-dwelling guests backed by a tinny, hardcore drumbeat. Jeremy's words get mangled, morphed and twisted but that's about it. This isn't one to listen to more than once.

Originally I couldn't imagine the underlying theme that would possibly link the two tracks: one railed at banality, the other positively bathes in it. But having listened to the two, the connecting factor is clear: they're both novelties, playing on the infamy of the respective "participants". How much you enjoy it will depend on how big a fan you are of the characters involved, but don't buy it for the music. Which makes scoring this difficult. From a musical point of view, there's nothing here that's worthy of any note. But the novelty factor may get it a play.
