Emerging from behind his mixing desk, Solo Banton makes a solo bid for stardom/notoriety with this 3 track promo single release from his debut album 'Walk Like Rasta'.
On it, his hyperactive brand of comic rub-a- dub - also serves as a promo-slot for the virtues of reggae music in general.
The motormouth a capella version in particular is a virtuoso piece of fast rapping about how and why reggae touches the parts other riddims cannot reach- "What kind of music picks you up put your spirit on a high?", he enquires rhetorically and the line "what came first chorus or verse - doctor or nurse" is pretty damn great.
I'm not sure how much of Solo Banton's frenzied vocals I could stomach in one sitting but this single definitely has a novelty appeal.
