Review: 'MICHAELSON, INGRID'
'MAYBE (single)'

-  Label: 'Cabin 24 Records'
-  Genre: 'Pop' -  Release Date: '16th November 2009'

Our Rating:
In the selling of Ingrid Michaelson her press release twice refers to her mainstream success. No surprise then to find that this single should be so perfectly tailored for a middle of the road easy listening audience.

In the States the single The Way I Am from her hit debut album (Girls and Boys) featured prominently in TV shows like Scrubs and Greys Anatomy as well as being used in an Old Navy ad campaign selling fairisle sweaters.

There is every reason to think that this bland air-brushed pop song from the follow up album Everybody will do equally well in sound tracking our TV entertainment packages and helping inform our consumer choices.

The clever clever video to go with the song suggests a concern that the song may not appeal on its own terms but it has the requisite catchy enough hook and even a hint of a Gospel swing so her marketing team should not be too worried.

On her website, you get the chance to win the chance to get your poster of the album artwork by particpating in a colouring in contest.

Who said the spirit of rock and roll rebellion was dead!
