Review: 'O'SULLIVAN, MARK'
'Relapse'

-  Label: 'Process Recordings'
-  Genre: 'Dance' -  Release Date: '14th December 2009'-  Catalogue No: 'PRCS127'

Our Rating:
The thing about dance music is that it can very easily drive you a bit potty. The more repetitive, the pottier, and the more swiftly the effects begin to manifest themselves. Like a tap dripping, the regularity and monotony can drive even the sanest person to distraction. Similarly, if you say a single word over and over, it will very soon lose its meaning and simply become a bewildering senseless sound. Because I fear mental illness and am probably quite potty enough already, thank you, I ensure my taps are turned off firmly when not in use, I avoid repeating words over and over, and only listen to dance music in small doses, and rarely through choice.

'Relapse' is the soundtrack to a nightmare in which you're trapped in an endless tunnel with brilliant white walls and ceiling, no doors, no windows and evenly spaced fluorescent strip-lights.

If the original version doesn't induce screaming insanity, don't worry, there are the Psycatron and Jakeone remixes. Gibber.
