Scottish hip-hop reached its zenith with such luminaries as erm...? Has it had a zenith? Perhaps now it has. Stanley Odd are a hip-hop band (as in an actual band) from Scotland, and quite good they are too.
While firmly sitting in the category of fun, good-time hip-hop, they do it very well, and it is great to hear the rhymes delivered with an Scottish accent and not a faux-American one. The regionally-accented rapping is augmented by a female vocal which provides a catchy chorus.
With summer just around the corner, this could well soundtrack the odd barbeque in the park.
